New HTC Lancaster leaked
Engadget Mobile found themselves in possession of a number of internal AT&T documents, and one of these mysterious documents shows a new HTC Android device, codenamed the Lancaster. This model comes with a slide-out keyboard - like the HTC Dream - though the front looks similar to the design of the slightly newer HTC Magic.
The specs include HSDPA, Bluetooth, 3MP camera and a 240×320 screen. Hopefully this is incorrect, as all the other Android phones have 480×320 (HVGA) screens. The QVGA resolution needs to die a fast death, and soon.
The HTC Lancaster is also supposed to have a “unique HTC social-messaging user interface,” which could possibly be in reference to the Android modifications the HTC Hero firmware videos has shown off.
The leak fixes an August launch for the US which tells us the announcement may not be too far in the distant future. Hopefully more details will surface on this phone in due course.
